If you ever wanted to stream Microsoft games on Sony hardware, developer RafaelNGP just dropped an unofficial Xbox Cloud Gaming app for jailbroken PS5 consoles. For anyone tinkering with early console exploits, this is a neat proof-of-concept that blurs the lines between walled gardens.

The release brings a dedicated web-app-based wrapper designed specifically to run Xbox Cloud Gaming on hacked PlayStation hardware. Since Sony’s machine lacks any native support for Microsoft’s streaming ecosystem, homebrew developers have to get creative with browser-based solutions and payload execution.

Getting this running requires a jailbroken PS5 with the appropriate development environment or package installer set up. You will need to grab the .pkg release directly from the GitHub repository, transfer it to your console, and install it through your usual homebrew package manager. Keep in mind that performance depends heavily on your local network connection and how well the console’s web container handles the streaming stream.

It is funny seeing rival ecosystems share space on hacked hardware, even if it is just through a browser wrapper. We have seen homebrew devs port all sorts of oddities over the years, but streaming Game Pass games on a PlayStation feels like a proper hacker flex.
