If you have been watching the Nintendo Switch emulation scene, suyu just pushed out v0.0.11, bringing massive static recompiler performance gains, macOS support, and new standalone game export tools. Hobbyists testing standalone packaging or experimenting with alternative backends will find plenty to dig into here.

The update makes the Export Game feature usable end-to-end on Windows. You can select a title and bundle it into a standalone package using the Dynarmic JIT, a Hybrid JIT + AOT setup, or experimental Static AOT. These exported packages bundle your graphics settings, game configs, and transferable shader caches, and they can even inject themselves directly into your Steam library with automatic controller assignment and an F12 configuration panel.

Performance on the experimental static recompiler has jumped dramatically, using Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as the main validation target. With the new ABI 6 recompiler-featuring fast guest-memory access, generation-based code guards, and exact native floating-point paths-frame rates on the strict static AOT path shot up significantly across platforms. On a Ryzen 9950X3D with a 9070XT on Windows, performance climbed from 24 FPS to 56 FPS. Linux jumped from 39 FPS to roughly 60 FPS, and an M5 MacBook Pro on macOS hit 60 FPS up from 54 FPS, bringing static AOT tantalizingly close to the native JIT baseline.

Other major additions include:

  1. macOS Revival: Fixes for MoltenVK, threading, and ARM64 behavior get Apple Silicon machines running again while wiping out nasty 10 to 40-second stalls.
  2. RetroArch Core: A brand-new Vulkan libretro core supporting Windows, Linux, macOS, and development Android ARM64 builds, complete with a built-in frame-time display.
  3. Android APK: An initial ARM64 APK build, though real-device testing is still early.
