OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast decomp runs on PS5 and Switch, with your own Steam copy
A work-in-progress decomp of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast runs on PS5 (tested on firmware 13.60) and Switch. You need your own Steam copy. Here's how.

A work-in-progress decompilation and port of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast is out, and the first test builds run on PS5 and Switch. The author, r4dius, says the PS5 build was only tested on a PS5 Pro running firmware 13.60. macOS (arm) and Xbox are also listed as targets, with Xbox untested.
The author says most of the game is already playable. Known problems include some SP runs getting stuck at the end, some menus showing wrong, and some options not working yet. Commenters in the thread also noticed that the car has no sounds and a passenger disappears in the test build. The author calls this a preview and says the next build should be as complete as the original. Enhancements from emoose/OutRun2006Tweaks are planned once the port is finished.
You don’t get the game from the port. The build reads the content from the small (~1 MB) OR2006C2C.EXE in your Steam install and extracts what it needs, so no licensed game data is redistributed. You need your own Steam copy.
PS5 (manual FTP install, the only path tested):
- On your PS5, load FTP, kstuff-lite, and ShadowMountPlus (or ShadowMount).
- Upload the PPSA99106 folder from the ZIP to /data/homebrew/, so you end up with /data/homebrew/PPSA99106.
- Create /data/homebrew/PPSA99106/assets/game.
- Copy the Steam version of the game into that game folder.
- ShadowMount should add the game to the menu. Launch it. The first run shows whether extraction worked.
On PS5 Pro, 120FPS is in the settings. It hasn’t been tested on a standard PS5. The PKG version is untested too.
Switch: Create /switch/outrun2/ on the SD card, copy OutRun2006-NX.nro and your Steam files into it, then launch the NRO. The first run does the same extraction check.
The download is in the test-1 release, and the code is in the outrun2-decomp repo. If you run it on a standard PS5 or an Xbox, the author wants to hear about it.
